At long last... a trip to Cedar Point with no rain! It was hard to believe, but I was going to have the whole day to experience the park with no interference from the weather. Well, except for those pesky midges. They weren't too bad until the end of the day. At that point, no matter what the clock said, every ride was a "midgenight" ride. (Sorry, I just had to work that in somehow!) The new Woodstock's Express coaster is up and running in the Camp Snoopy area, offering a second coaster for the kiddie's to ride. The Magnum is celebrating its 10th anniversary and the Mean Streak was running a little better than last year, though a tune-up would still be nice. Of course, Raptor still holds the top position on my list of the best coasters in any park. I also had time to do Power Tower, the Big Wheel, the Sky Ride, and take a Paddlewheel Excursion, listening to those "punny" jokes along the way. If you take a ride on the Cedar Point Railroad train, you might notice how the track has moved by the Big Wheel. Rumor has it that a new coaster will be going in this area next year. Will it be named after the wild western area where it will reside? Will it be a Morgan, or a B&M? All we know for sure, is that if Cedar Point is putting in a new coaster, it's sure to be a record breaker! It would be nice to see a western-themed haunted house for this area of the park too. We'll just have to wait and see. Also new to the park this year is the diving show, in the tank that used to house the dolphins. It's a nice show that does a good job combining education and comedy with the sport. The IMAX movie "Extreme" is worth a look too, and don't miss Ka-Boom, the entertaining percussion show before the movie. The laser show didn't have much new to offer this year, but there are so many things to do in this park, that there are sure to be more than enough to make it worth your trip to Cedar Point - America's Roller Coast!
