Cedar Point Trip 2008

For the first time in several years, I managed to ride every coaster in the park... well, with the exception of Gemini Jr., which they still won't let me on without a child in tow. And, not only did I ride 18 different coasters, I managed to get front seat rides on every one of them! Not an east feat when Disaster Transport, Woodstock, and Wildcat are mostly about where you happen to be in line at the time. (OK, Wildcat gives you a 50/50 chance.)
The major new development for this year was Planet Snoopy, a re-theming of one of the children's areas. Now that there's Camp Snoopy toward the back of the park, and Planet Snoopy toward the front, can we please get rid of Kiddy Kingdom? There's no need for three separate children's areas! And put a coaster in the Planet Snoopy area!
Subway sandwiches are now available in the park, and the Hotel Breakers now has a Tomo Hibachi restaurant. The food here is very good and priced reasonably well. In other words, it's not cheap, but it's not quite as bad as some places.
Challenge Park also has a new ride, the Skyscraper, a giant propellor sort of ride. This area is another that could use some development and maybe promotion. Everything here costs extra, but perhaps offering a few free rides would get more people in the area and/or increase business. Maybe it could be a special sticker on your cup or a prize at one of the midway games.
Special recognition this year goes to the security and groundskeeping crews who help keep people safe and keep the park looking great.
Still no haunted western ride, but I won't give up hope. This park really needs a dark ride! And maybe a spinning coaster?
Once again, my day at Cedar Point finished with rides on my favorite... Raptor. It's a great way to finish the day. Three rides in the front, in fact, and I was almost on for the last ride of the day. It was a wonderful day, though I still didn't have time to do the other fun things at Cedar Point. The shows, the museum, Paddlewheel Excursions, the train... so much to do and just not enough hours in a day to get it all in!
If you haven't been here, you're missing the best amusement park in the world! Go to their website, send for your Getaway Guide, and head to the Point! It's America's Roller Coast!
