Cedar Point Trip 2007

Another new coaster for Cedar Point! Though it's no record-breaker, Maverick is a very sweet ride. Plenty of speed and lots of fast, tight turns. The only bad part is those over-the-shoulder harnesses. It's a real shame, especially considering the amazing experience that the restraint systems Top Thrill Dragster and Millenium Force allow. Maverick definitely draws part of the crowd over to this section of the park, so perhaps another area of the park will receive something new next year.
Or perhaps Cedar Point will focus on some much needed clean-up and painting. There are several rides and buildings that could use some work. It's definitely difficult to keep it all going, and the acquisition of the Paramount parks was clearly a large task that made it diffucult to keep on top of everything.
Tuesday through Thursday are the best days to be at the park if you want to have a bit less of a crowd, though this is so widely regarded as the best amusement park on the planet that what you could call a slow day almost never happens. If you really want to see and do most of the park and can't come back every year, you really should consider a two-day pass. There are so many great rides and several shows and shops that one day just isn't enough. Cedar Fair Max passes are the way to go if you'll be at more than one Cedar Fair park. A little pricier than the Six Flags alternative, then again...
Special recognition this year goes to the ride-ops of Woodstock Express and Raptor who make the wait in line fun for the riders *and their parents in the case of Woodstock Express) and put smiles on the faces of their fellow employees.
I continue to hold out hope for a haunted western ride somewhere near Mean Streak. And maybe a spinning coaster?
My day this year finished with a ride on my favorite... Raptor. It's a great way to finish the day. This year I missed both Disaster Transport and Wildcat, confirming that I have to start setting aside two days to be at Cedar Point. I haven't had time to do any of the other fun things at Cedar Point for awhile. The shows, the museum, Paddlewheel Excursions, the train... so much to do and just not enough hours in a day to get it all in!

Are you ready for your ride(s) at Cedar Point? It's the place to be, because it's America's Roller Coast!
