Cedar Point Trip 2006

Wave Swinger is the only new ride this year, not too far away from Mean Streak, where even more excitement is being generated by the construction of a new coaster that will open next year. There aren't any details yet, but suspicion is running high that the record number of inversions may be the challenge Cedar Point is taking on this time...
Even with this new coaster going in, there's still room for much more, especially in this area of the park. Hopefully a new coaster back here will help spread the crowds out a bit.
Also new this year is a decrease in ticket price. That's right, a DECREASE! Food prices have remained the same or less as well. While other parks may be trying to attract families with bringing in new shows, Cedar Fair has chosen to tackle the same issue by bringing down the cost. Now that they will be adding the former Paramount parks to their portfolio, we can only hope that they can continue to keep the prices down. What would be really nice is if they would offer a company wide season pass...
Tuesday through Thursday are the best days to be at the park if you want to have a bit less of a crowd, though this is so widely regarded as the best amusement park on the planet that what you could call a slow day almost never happens. If you really want to see and do most of the park and can't come back every year, you really should consider a two-day pass. There are so many great rides and several shows and shops that one day just isn't enough.
The staff at Cedar Point remain one of the most friendly and helpful you'll find at a large park. They make the park a pleasure to visit on any day. My own special recognition this year goes to the ride-ops of Mantis and Gemini who make the wait in line fun for the riders and put smiles on the faces of their fellow employees. Special recognition also goes out to the international employees of Cedar Point. It's fun to read their name badges and see how much of the world is represented at Cedar Point, and how much fun they are having as well.
I'm still hoping to hear about a haunted western ride somewhere near Mean Streak. Maybe after they get this new coaster finished...
My day this year finished with a ride on my favorite... Raptor. It's a great way to finish the day. My apologies to Blue Streak, which I didn't get to ride this year. Last year I had to skip Disaster Transport. Maybe next year I can catch a ride on them all.

Are you ready for your ride(s) at Cedar Point? I hope so! Plan your visit now and enjoy your day at Cedar Point, America's Roller Coast!
