MaxAir is the new ride for the year, situated near the front of the park and drawing some extra attention to Disaster Transport, Wicked Twister, and the ferris wheel. There's still room for that Wild Mouse coaster though...
New paint was evident in several areas this year, and there are new trains for the Corkscrew coaster too. It hasn't been announced as I write this, but I'd be surprised if a new coaster isn't on the way for next year. I'm still hoping for something back in the wild west and Mean Streak areas of the park.
I do suggest that you plan to visit Cedar Point on a day other than a Saturday in July or August. As with most larger parks, sunny Saturdays lead to very large crowds and very long lines. It's still not too uncomfortable though. The lake breeze drifts across the park most of the time and there are shady areas to help keep the heat to a minimum. There's a nice variety of food available throughout the park though the food prices are a bit high in general, as with most larger parks.
The staff at Cedar Point remain one of the most friendly and helpful you'll find at a large park. It's part of what has earned this park the title of Best Park on the Planet for the 7th year in a row from Amusement Today. My own special recognition this year goes to the ride-ops of Blue Streak and Magnum XL-200 and to those wonderful DJs who keep us entertained while we wait in line.
I continue to wait for my haunted western ride toward the rear of the park. I even heard other people commenting about how "spooky" this area of the park feels. A haunted ride would be a perfect addition...
My day this year finished with a ride on the Wicked Twister just after a lightning fast ride on my favorite... Raptor. You will not find a better collection of coasters and thrill rides anywhere else than you will at Cedar Point. I completely agree that it is most definitely the best park on the planet!
So tell me... are you ready? It's time... sit upright, hold on tight, and enjoy your ride(s) at Cedar Point - America's Roller Coast!
