Once again, Cedar Point sets the bar a little higher... 420 feet high to be exact. The Top Thrill Dragster may be a short ride, but it's a thrill that's hard to beat. In addition to this mega-thrill ride, they also managed to do some refurbishing work on the Cedar Creek Mine Ride, repaint the Wildcat, and do some other touch-up work here and there.
It is a bit puzzling that park management makes such a fuss over keeping so few people on the loading platform of Millenium Force, which is designed to easily handle 100-200 people and does nothing to limit how many people are on the platform for Gemini, which is poorly designed and has trouble handling more than 50. Both of these situations help keep the ride operators frustrated and a bit less than pleasant at times, through no fault of their own. That said, the staff here is definitely one of the best and constantly challenges each other to remain so. Of particular note for their great service, pleasant manner, and positive attitude are the ride-ops on Iron Dragon, Wildcat, Blue Streak, and Magnum XL with honorable mention going to the ride-ops of Raptor, Mean Streak and the grounds and security staff.
Be sure to take advantage of the wide variety of food here. Too many parks only offer a handful of options. As well as the usual items, at Cedar Point you'll also find frozen custard, various sorts of ice creams, Italian entrees, pastas, made-to-order sandwiches and salads, western style dinners, cookies, and pastries. There's a Johnny Rockets diner inside the park, a T.G.I. Friday's on the Beach if you're staying at the Hotel Breakers, and over on the harbor side, you can get lobster, Alaskan crab, and steak!
I'm still waiting for my haunted western ride toward the rear of the park, and there's still room in the Demon Drop area for another coaster. The old pirate boat ride by the Blue Streak is still vacant as well.
Of special note... despite Six Flags Magic Mountain being listed along with Cedar Point in the Guinness Book of Records for park with the most coasters, Cedar Point still offers more opportunities to ride with less down-time on their coasters than Magic Mountain.
Are you ready? Sit upright, hold on tight, and enjoy your ride(s) at Cedar Point - America's Roller Coast!
